Dylan Cozens went yard. Off a left-handed pitcher. Cleared the back fence at Bright House Field. Landed in Thome Pond. Scared the ‘gator.
The Phillies played the Blue Jays today, and combined for 22 hits. Finally some offense to write about. Each team banged out 11 hits. The Phillies had five of the seven extra base hits on the day. In spite of the 11 hits, most of the Phillies’ pitchers pitched fairly well

Monday the Phillies traveled to the Blue Jays’ Englebert Complex to face a line up that included three position players who are headed to the Arizona Fall League, three pitchers who are also going to the AFL, and Vladimir Guerrero’s talented, 16-year old son. Both teams combined to produce only nine hits, but the Jays were able to turn their six hits into five runs while their pitchers shutout the Phillies on three hits.

Phils1 played Phils2. The game was called after 6 innings. Phils 2 made up an early 3-0 deficit to win 10-3. The pitching was a little sketchy, but some of the guys threw well. Ismael Cabrera started for Phils2 and Carlos Indriago started for Phils1. Each threw 2 innings. Continue reading Florida Instructional League, Intrasquad Game – 10/1/2014

Intrasquad games are a pain to score. The line ups are fluid, innings can start with runners on base, innings can last more or less than 3 outs, and there are double the number of pitchers to chart. I can provide a lot of detail on Morgan and some sketchy highlights on the rest of the game. Continue reading Florida Instructional League – Adam Morgan Edition; 9/24/2014
