Box Score Recap – 4/9/2016

Another abbreviated report.

Lehigh Valley (0-2) Postponed.

Reading (1-2) Lost to Portland 6-2 while being outhit 14-3.  And, Portland had zero XBH. Roman Quinn, J.P. Crawford, and Christian Marrero singled.  Marrero had both RBIs. Quinn stole his first base. Nick Pivetta gave up 5 runs on 9 hits in 3.2 innings.  Joely Rodriguez walked 4 in 3 innings and brought home a run with one of two wild pitches. Continue reading Box Score Recap – 4/9/2016

Box Score Recap – 4/8/2016

Another abbreviated report.  Still on the DL.

Lehigh Valley (0-2) Dropped two seven-inning games to Syracuse, 5-1 and 2-1. Jake Thompson gave up two runs in the first, one earned.  A passed ball charged to Andrew Knapp figured into the scoring.  Edward Mujica came in to put the game out of reach with a 3-spot in the sixth.  Pigs managed 3 hits, 2 by Angelys Nina.  Adam Morgan struck out 9 in 5 innings and allowed only one run.  Carlos Alonso led the Pigs’ 4-hit attack with 2 singles. 2016 Sleeper and Breakout Selections; Clearwater Announces Rotation

2016 Threshers v. XST Phillies, April 5th

Tuesday night the Threshers played a scrimmage game against a team comprised of players in the XST camp.  Threshers’ pitchers started for both teams – Tyler Viza for the Threshers and Will Morris for XST.  The game was a little one sided as the Threshers scored 5 runs in the second inning and went on to win 7-0. 2016 Spring Training and the Affiliates’ Rosters, April 1st

Spring training is grinding to its conclusion.  The Phillies blew a 9th inning lead against Baltimore at CBP and the minor leaguers played their last games at the Complex and in Dunedin.  Saturday, the second Futures Game, the final game before the start of regular season games, will be played at CBP.
