Reading (1-2) Lost to Portland 6-2 while being outhit 14-3. And, Portland had zero XBH. Roman Quinn, J.P. Crawford, and Christian Marrero singled. Marrero had both RBIs. Quinn stole his first base. Lehigh Valley (0-2) Dropped two seven-inning games to Syracuse, 5-1 and 2-1. Jake Thompson gave up two runs in the first, one earned. A passed ball charged to Andrew Knapp figured into the scoring. Edward Mujica came in to put the game out of reach with a 3-spot in the sixth. Pigs managed 3 hits, 2 by Angelys Nina. Adam Morgan struck out 9 in 5 innings and allowed only one run. Tuesday night the Threshers played a scrimmage game against a team comprised of players in the XST camp. Threshers’ pitchers started for both teams – Tyler Viza for the Threshers and Will Morris for XST. Spring training is grinding to its conclusion. The Phillies blew a 9th inning lead against Baltimore at CBP and the minor leaguers played their last games at the Complex and in Dunedin.
