Lehigh Valley (22-42) lost to the Norfolk Tides 5-4 in 10 innings. Joely Rodriguez lasted 4.2 innings. He was lifted after his 7th walk and 100th pitch. Chris Leroux held the fort thru the eighth. Juan Gutierrez pitched a clean ninth but gave up the winning run without recording an out in the tenth. The good news is he was able to maintain his 9.00 ERA through 2 appearances with the ‘Pigs. Kelly Dugan Returns, Again; June 13, 2015
Even though the Threshers played a double header against the Brevard County Manatees, the big story was the return of Kelly Dugan. He played right field in the first game and was the DH in the night cap. He went a combined 2-7 with a BB, K, and his first HR of the season. He hit the ball hard most at bats. The original plan was for Dugan to play the outfield Friday and Saturday, DH on Sunday, then take stock. Friday’s rain derailed that plan. I expect that he’ll play the outfield Sunday. He could return to Reading not long after that. He looks ready.

Lehigh Valley (22-41) beat the Norfolk Tides 1-0 in 14 innings. Adam Morgan threw 6.0 shutout innings (101 pitches) and 4 relievers pitched 4-hit ball over the next 8.0 innings. Seth Rosin got the win and Jake Diekman picked up his first AAA save of the season. The IronPigs’ offense was non-existant most of the game. They didn’t get a base runner until the fifth, a hit until the seventh, their second hit until the eleventh. Jordan Danks doubled home the game winning run. Dom Brown went 0-4. Gabriel Lino went 1-5. Lehigh Valley (21-41) lost to the Norfolk Tides 4-3. Seve Gonzalez threw 97 pitches and lasted 4.1 innings. He left trailing 1-0 with one out and a runner on second. Not too difficult a situation for a reliever, but it took 3 batters before Chris Leroux managed to allow the inherited runner to score. Four before he actually recorded an out. Thoughts on the first 10 rounds of the draft
Hello, its me. I apologize for not writing up a final draft prep piece on Sunday, life sort of got in the way. I did want to pop back in and write up some thoughts on the first two days of the draft. This is not going to rival the draft recaps I wrote up for 5 years, where I spent waaaay too much time dissecting draft picks and potential signability concerns, but I do have some thoughts, so I figured I’d share them with the masses, in case you were interested to see what I thought.

2015 Draft Discussion: Day Two
Here’s the thread to continue talking about the 2015 First Year Player Draft.
The Phillies selected HS SS Cornelius Randolph with the 10th overall pick. Randolph is out of Griffin HS in GA. He bats left/ throws right and is 5’11, 205 lbs, born on 06/02/97. He has been described as one of the best pure hitters in the draft by Keith Law. Scouting director Johnny Almaraz has indicated that Randolph will move to LF.
With the 48th pick they selected 2B Scott Kingery. He is a college JR out of Arizona. He bats right/throws right, and is 5’10, 180 lbs, born on 04/29/94. BA has some scouts comping him with Kinsler but with less power. He’ll have a leg up on our current “second baseman of the future” since he isn’t on the restricted list.
The draft continues Tuesday and includes Rounds 3-10. Coverage will start at 1:00 pm ET, live on MLB.com.
