Box Score Recap – 6/28/2015

Lehigh Valley (30-48) split a pair of seven inning games with the Louisville Bats, losing 6-1 and winning 8-3.  In game one, Jason Berken went 6.0 innings and gave up 2 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 4 K.  Seth Rosin put the game out of reach with 4 R on 3 H and 2 BB in the 7th inning.  Probably didn’t matter since the Bats pitchers held the ‘Pigs to 2 hits.  Aaron Altherr went 1-2 with a walk and his 1st AAA HR. Box Score Recap – 6/27/2015

Lehigh Valley (29-47) postponed, rain.  Double header Sunday.

Reading (39-35) beat the Portland Sea Dogs 8-5.  Ethan Martin got his first win, Ryan O’Sullivan his first save.  J.P. Crawford went 1-4 with a triple and an RBI.  Kelly Dugan (.362) went 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Brian Pointer went 3-4 with 3 HR and 5 RBI.  (I’m sure Brian hit these home runs to cheer up Brad.  No one will be able to accuse you of “having the gall to …”  anymore.  Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck.  Best of luck with your recovery.)

Clearwater (40-33) beat the Charlotte Stone Crabs 8-2.  Ricardo Pinto gave up 2 runs (1 unearned) on 6 hits and 4 walks in 6.2 innings on his way to his second win in as many starts.  Harold Guerreo finished up for his first save.

Andrew Pullin went 3-4 with a triple, HR (6), and 3 RBI.  Rhys Hoskins went 1-3 with an RBI and his second HR in his 3 games as a Thresher.  Angelo Mora went 2-4 with 2 RBI.  The Threshers winning streak has reached eight.

Lakewood (35-36)  beat the Hickory Crawdads 6-3, again.  Just like last night, the ‘Claws starter, this time Chris Oliver, gave up all 3 Crawdads’ runs.  He allowed 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out none in 5.0 innngs.  The bullpen came through again.  Manny Martinez pitched two, one-hit innings and got the win.  Austin Davis pitched a shutout eighth, and Matt Hockenberry pitched a perfect ninth to register his seventh save.

Scott Kingery went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBIs.  His eighth inning double plated the tying and go-ahead runs.  Herlis Rodriguez (.310) went 1-4 with a double and an RBI (36).  Cord Sandberg went 1-4.  Kyle Martin went 1-4 with an RBI and his first HR.  Emmanuel Marrero went 2-4 with a double, RBI, and his first HR.  Joel Fisher went 1-4 with an RBI.

Williamsport (8-0) postponed, rain.  Single game Sunday.

GCL Phillies (4-1) beat the GCL Tigers 8-1.  The Tigers faced a tough morning as 2 pitchers made rehab appearances.  David Buchanan gave up one run on 5 hits and struck out three in five innings.  Brandon Leibrandt followed with three perfect innings and also struck out three.  Ranger Suarez finished up with another perfect inning.

CF Juan Luis went 4-5 with 2 runs scored from the leadoff position.  2B Jonathan Arauz went 2-5 with a double and an RBI.  DH “C” Randolph went 1-5 but hit his first professional HR and had 2 RBI.  LF Bryan Martelo went 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  3B Luis Espiritu went 2-4 with a double and an RBI.  SS Arky Gamboa went 1-4 with an RBI.  1B Luis Encarnacion went 1-4 with a double and an RBI.  Randolph has yet to play the field during a game.

DSL Phillies (12-10) suspended trailing the DSL Rays 5-0 in the fifth.

VSL Phillies (16-20) beat the VSL Tigers 2-0.  The Phillies only managed 4 hits, all singles, one walk, and a hit batter.  The Tigers commited 4 errors and both Phillies’ runs were unearned.
