Judging by the comments in last week’s Open Discussion, it seems appropriate to institute a weekly Draft Discussion. This will make it possible to have all relevant draft news, reports, and discussions under one category and in one place.

2016 MLB Draft and International Bonus Pools Announced
The Phillies were assigned a 2016 MLB Draft Pool of just over $13.4M. The amount is slightly behind the largest allotment assigned to the Reds ($13.9M). Cincinnati will receive the top amount because they hold the first pick in the Competitive Balance Lottery.
The Phillies did receive the top International Bonus Pool allotment, a little over $5.6M.
Hudson Belinsky posted the story on Baseball America.
Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors followed with a related article.
Slot amounts will be announced at a later date.
2015 Draft Tracker
This is the place to keep track of all signings, bonus information, pool spending, and media regarding all 40 2015 Draftees. I’ll accept any help you can provide as reports surface through articles from local, national, or social media. Please post any links you have, or if it’s a tweet, just post the text or however you like. I would ask only that you post any new information as a new comment so it appears at the bottom and makes it easier to find amongst what’s likely to be a pretty large post with possibly hundreds of comments. If you have something you want to draw my attention to and you don’t think it can wait until I get back on and check this page, you can always tweet at me @jimpeyton19. I’ll date/time stamp notes as I add them below. A special “Thanks” to Brad. I stole most of this from his 2014 Draft Tracker. Link to the 2015 Draft Tracker. The most recent updates will be above the fold, older updates will move below.

2015 Draft Discussion: Day Two
Here’s the thread to continue talking about the 2015 First Year Player Draft.
The Phillies selected HS SS Cornelius Randolph with the 10th overall pick. Randolph is out of Griffin HS in GA. He bats left/ throws right and is 5’11, 205 lbs, born on 06/02/97. He has been described as one of the best pure hitters in the draft by Keith Law. Scouting director Johnny Almaraz has indicated that Randolph will move to LF.
With the 48th pick they selected 2B Scott Kingery. He is a college JR out of Arizona. He bats right/throws right, and is 5’10, 180 lbs, born on 04/29/94. BA has some scouts comping him with Kinsler but with less power. He’ll have a leg up on our current “second baseman of the future” since he isn’t on the restricted list.
The draft continues Tuesday and includes Rounds 3-10. Coverage will start at 1:00 pm ET, live on MLB.com.
