Clearwater was scheduled to play two games against Daytona Thursday, but our Florida weather forced the postponement of the second game to Friday. Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/18/2021
Thanks to a couple of makeups, the teams played six games last night. They went a collective 3 and 3. of particular note, five of the six starting pitchers went at least five innings. Clearwater split with Dunedin, Rixon Wingrove homered in each game. Lehigh Valley lost. Reading pitched a shutout. And, Jersey Shore split with Hudson Valley. Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/17/2021
There were three, low-scoring games and a rainout last night. Clearwater was the rainout. The game will be played on Saturday. Lehigh Valley lost a one-run game collecting just three hits. Reading returned to their recent winning ways in a one-run victory. And, Jersey Shore dropped a one-run game, also managing just three hits. Clearwater lost late in their game. Lehigh Valley returned a drubbing to Worcester. Reading and Francisco Morales (0-6, 13.50) lost. Might be time to rethink Morales. And, Jersey Shore won a well-played game.

Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/15/2021
Clearwater outlasted Dunedin in a high-scoring affair. Lehigh Valley gut drubbed in a one-sided affair. Reading won, again. Break up the Fightin’ Phils. That’s seven of their last eight. Former Phillie Brock Stassi drove in the go-ahead run with a pinch-hit. And Jersey Shore wasted a great start and lost their 4th game in their last five.

The Phillies had a good week, winning two series. They took two of three from Atlanta and swept a 2-game series from the Yankees. Their record is back over .500. Now they face a big test this week with a west coast trip that pits them against the Giants and Dodgers, the two best teams in the National League.
