With Jersey Shore’s doubleheader, there were five games last night.  Clearwater beat the division-leading Tarpons behind a bevy of stolen bases.  Lehigh Valley lost but Didi Gregorius and Adam Haseley combined for 5 hits in 7 at bats.  Reading blew a 2-run lead in the ninth inning.  And, Jersey Shore split their doubleheader.

More rain in Jersey City, so there were only three games last night, and only one victory.  Clearwater lost a marathon that included 21 hits, 7 errors, 18 walks, and 20 strikeouts.  Lehigh Valley was shut out on one hit.  Didi made a rehab start.  Reading posted the only win in a game where they were able to take and maintain a lead against a persistent opponent.  And, Jersey Shore was suspended in the second inning with a lead. Only three games last night because one was rained out.  But, we won those three!  Clearwater walked off against the division leader.  Lehigh Valley came back from an early deficit and aMatt Moore rehab.  Reading built up an early lead behind a first-rounders’ 2 home runs and was never really threatened.  And, Jersey Shore will make up their postponed game Wednesday as part of a 7-inning doubleheader. The guys won all four of today’s regularly scheduled games, but they lost the suspended game in which they led when weather interrupted.  Clearwater scored double digits with some help from their opponent in their win.  Lehigh Valley won behind a 2-home run, 5 RBI night by Mickey Moniak, and a solid start from Bailey Falter.  Reading won behind a 6-RBI night by Luke Miller, and 16 strikeouts by their pitchers.  (Billy Sullivan had himself a night.)  And, Jersey Shore won with 4 solo HRs after their come-from-ahead loss in the suspended game.  Continue reading Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/4/2021 →
