Monday’s are off days for the minor league teams in Low-A and above.  But, not for the Florida Complex League (FCL), and probably not the Dominican Summer League (DSL) which begins in two weeks.  The FCL Phillies opened their season on the road against the FCL Blue Jays today.  The Phillies won 8-7. 

The Phillies submitted a bunch of transactions to fill out their FCL roster.  They are listed below.  The list includes a couple of early June transactions that slipped through because “Phillies Organization” does not have a URL or roster list.

Samuel Aldegheri got the start and pitched 2.2 innings.  He gave up 2 runs, one earned, on 3 hits and 2 walks.  He struck out four.  Jaylen Smith came in and stranded a base runner.  He pitched 1.1 innings, no runs, no hits, one walk.  Hsu Chi-Ling started the fifth and blew the save.  He stuck around long enough to be awarded the win.  Hsu pitched 2.2 innings and gave up 5 runs, 4 earned, on 7 hits.  He walked none and struck out four.  Anton Kuznetsov relieved and stranded an inherited runner.  He pitched 2.1 innings, allowed no runs, no hits, and walked two, striking out one.

The Phillies scored 5 runs in the second inning on Oscar Gonzalez’ RBI double, a wild pitch, Leandro Pineda’s RBI double, Uziel Viloria’s RBI single, and Guarner Dipre’s sac fly.  They tied the game in the sixth on Marcus Lee Sang’s solo HR (1).  They re-tied the game and took the lead for good in the seventh on Alexeis Azuaje’s solo HR (1) and Wilson Valdez’ bases-loaded walk.

Lee Sang went 2-5 with 2 runs scored.  Jamari Baylor and Jose Cedeno each stole a base.  Smith picked a runner off first.  Mitchell Edwards, Viloria, Dipre, and Baylor all committed errors.  Edwards had a passes ball.  Aldergheri and Hsu threw wild pitches.  Kuznetzov hit a batter.

DSL Phillies Red and DSL Phillies White seasons run 7/12 thru 10/2.

The Affiliate Scoreboard does not include FCL games.  This is another broken feature offered by MLB after taking over the minor leagues.  Maybe they’ll realize this shortfall and correct it.  Fingers crossed.

    1. Great news…..had shoulder soreness for awhile……hopefully it is not a recurring thing.

      1. Perhaps I jumped the gun…..he only faced 5 batters and apparently had some issues locating

  4. So the MILB website doesn’t include the FCL in its box scores page with the other leagues. I guess it’s still there if you look around for it. The site has really fallen off since their redesign; just seems like a lot less info there.
