Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (7/28/2021)

The top three teams played and won close games.  Lehigh Valley jumped out to a lead and held on.  Reading put up a crooked number and held on.  Jersey Shore built a small lead and lost its shutout in the ninth but held on.  Clearwater was rained out.  The FCL Phillies game was cancelled.  And, no games in the DSL on Wednesdays.  Two more Threshers were added to the IL, the 7-day this time. Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (7/27/2021)

The top teams went 0-4.  Clearwater also almost lost two players in a deadline deal.  Still might.  Abel didn’t pitch last night on his turn.  Lozano did.  He’s either two before or two after Abel.  I’ve no idea when he pitches again.  Hope it’s not Wednesday.

I’ve got to get up early, so this is going to be short and sweet.  Six more entries on the 60-day IL. Continue reading Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (7/27/2021)

2021 Post Draft Discussion; July 25th

The Phillies have signed 18 of their 20 picks from the 2021 Amateur Draft and 10 non-drafter free agents.  They have not signed their #16 and #19 selections.  The signing bonuses for the other 18 have been released.  To date, they have a little over $40K available to apply to the $125K limit before penalties for the two outstanding picks. Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap (7/23/2021)

Lehigh Valley hung a big number on an old friend.  Reading was tamed until a ninth inning rally made the score look good.  Jersey Shore flirted with snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.  And, Clearwater scored early so that when the game was called, they were ahead.

The FCL Phillies had their game cancelled, again.  And, both DSL teams won.

Bigger questions were raised by the earlier than usual departures of Johan Rojas and Bryson Stott from their respective games.  Trade?  Covid?  And, what’s up at the Complex.  FCL games were cancelled on Thursday and Friday.  And, Saturday’s cancellation was posted around dinner time Friday night.  That sounds like, well, you know. Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap (7/22/2021)

The Phillies promoted a few players and released four.  But, that served as little motivation as the four stateside affiliates went one and three last night.  Lehigh Valley played close but could never pull even.  Reading blew a 3-run lead in the bottom of the ninth.  Jersey Shore tied the game twice but could never forge ahead.  And, Clearwater blew their close game open with a 5-run inning.

The FCL Phillies’ game was canceled because of expected bad weather.  The DSL Phillies Red lost.  And the DSL Phillies White won on a two-hitter.
