Lehigh Valley topped Gwinnett behind J.P. Crawford’s grand slam.

Reading wasted another solid pitching performance by a starter.

Clearwater got a shutout from Edgar Garcia and Jeff Singer.

And, the GCL Phillies kicked Tiger butt with a 6-run tenth.

Box Score Recap – 7/25/2017

The Phillies’ affiliates exhibited little fire power for the most part on Tuesday.

Lehigh Valley managed to win on a bullpen shutout and 4 total hits, one being Brock Stassi’s grand slam home run.

Reading also produced 4 hits and lost when they gave up 2 unearned runs, wasting Cole Irvin’s fine six innings.

Clearwater got 6 hits in each game of a double header, losing both when they were outscored 10-2.

Lakewood score 4 runs on their 6 hits, but lost.

Williamsport also got 6 hits and lost.

The GCL Phillies swept a double header, pounding 11 hits in a 4-1 victory but just 6 hits in an 8-1 win.  They also got some pretty good pitching. Continue reading Box Score Recap – 7/25/2017

Rhys Hoskins hit his 23rd home run in a Lehigh Valley loss.

Tyler Viza threw seven shutout innings in a Reading loss.

Cornelius Randolph had 2 hits in a Clearwater loss.

Sixto Sanchez pitched a five inning shutout.

Williamsport pounded Auburn.

Lehigh Valley (62-40)  lost to Gwinnett, 9-3.

Zach Eflin took a step backward with 7 runs on 10 hits and 2 walks in 5.0 innings.  He struck out nine.  Ramos, Mariot, and Murray combined to give up 2 runs over the final 4.0 innings.

Didn’t matter though as the IronPigs could only muster 3 runs on 5 hits and a walk.  Rhys Hoskins hit a 2-run HR (23).

Lakewood won behind Adonis Medina’s gem, Darick Hall added an RBI to his league-leading 72.

Lakewood split a double header.

Williamsport won with Kyle Young on the mound.  Colby Fitch hit his first professional home run.
