2021 Instructs, 9/28/2021

2021 Instructs started yesterday.  I waited until today to go over to the Complex.  The first day can be tedious with early and on-time arrivals mixing with rehabbers all at once.  Yesterday players hit the field around 9:00AM, but I think that those guys were most likely the rehabbers who had already been on site.  Continue reading 2021 Instructs, 9/28/2021

Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (9/25/2021)

Lehigh Valley (53-68) lost to Buffalo, 4-3.  

But, first, I’d like to acknowledge the wonderful season that Ranger Suarez has put together to help keep the Phillies in the playoff hunt.  I think his performance Saturday may be the best I’ve seen by a Phillies pitcher since, well … Halladay’s no-hitters come to mind.  Bravo, Ranger!  Now, back to the IronPigs. Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (9/22/2021)

Lehigh Valley (53-66) beat Buffalo, 3-0, in a game called after the IronPigs batted in the top of the seventh inning.

Colton Eastman (1-1, 4.40) pitched all six innings.  He allowed five hits, walked none, and struck out four.  He threw an effective 69 pitches with 48 strikes (69.6%).  He also got 10 groundouts and zero flyouts.  Alec Bohm, Nick Maton, and Darick Hall chipped in with two double plays. Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (9/19/2021)

Final game for three affiliates.  Lehigh Valley lost but will continue to play for two more weeks.  We’ll see who makes up the roster the final two weeks by Tuesday I expect.  Reading ended their season with a shutout victory.  Jersey Shore also ended the season with a victory.  Clearwater ended theirs with a shutout loss.

The FCL team completed its season Saturday.
