Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (9/26/2021)

Lehigh Valley (53-70) lost to Buffalo, 6-4.  The IronPigs built a lead durimg the middle innings of the game only to watch the bullpen blow the lead in regulation and lose the game in overtime.

The IronPigs opened the scoring in the fourth inning with two runs.  Jorge Bonifacio led off with a single and stole second base.  Bryson Stott reached on a walk.  Rafael Marchan grounded out to short but both runners were able to move up a base.  Boifacio scored on a ground out by Simon Muzziotti, Stott to third.  Stott scored on a double by Darick Hall.

  1. Very nice to see Stott hitting at AAA from the get go. My guess is that AAA is filled with bad pitching though at this time of the year. Good for him though.
I don’t expect any DSL guys coming to the Instructs with visa and Covid issues in play, let alone the timing, but I could be wrong.

    1. At worst, the pitching at AAA is going to be a lot of guys who were good in AA so I still think it means something for him to do well. I almost want to say it’s time to call him up since he could be an improvement over Torreyes/Galvis, there’s just no point this late in the year.

  2. For those DR kids who do not come stateside next week, assume the Phillies will have a version of the CLW-FIL, for them at Boca Chica,

  3. To bring up Stott, he would need to be put on the 40. I don’t think they want to do that until they’re certain that he’s up for good and not use up a space for someone else.
