Lehigh Valley (53-68) lost to Buffalo, 4-3.
But, first, I’d like to acknowledge the wonderful season that Ranger Suarez has put together to help keep the Phillies in the playoff hunt. I think his performance Saturday may be the best I’ve seen by a Phillies pitcher since, well … Halladay’s no-hitters come to mind. Bravo, Ranger! Now, back to the IronPigs.

Five #1 picks in the lineup. At least they have a lot in common.
I guess that decision to put Ranger in the rotation looks pretty good now doesn’t it? Oh yea it does. Ranger and Harper are the only reasons this team still has a chance to win the division (they won’t) plus they’re one win away from a winning season. Finally!
Yes. Kudos to Ranger for the outstanding job not only last night, but since he has been in the rotation. This site I believe was overwhelmingly against the decision to move him from the bullpen. I guess once in a while things work out.
He might be that sole pitcher that can get them over the top….
The Lone Ranger.
ERA is 1.45 unreal
Congrats to Hans Crouse….his contract taken by the big club and starting today’s game. He could prove to be a key this final week. An unknown but effective against big league bats.
This is fantastic! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Crouse/Kennedy/Gibson trade was pure genius and could easily be the difference-maker this season and perhaps even next season. It was a brilliantly conceived and executed trade. This is where a DD or Gillick-level GM makes the biggest difference over a well below average GM like Klentak. Thank God!
I am very much looking forward to seeing him pitch, mark. Hoping we have something with him.
