M Chaves And Nevis had pretty good numbers l
Everything about Herrera excites me…..and that is worrisome since Rule 5 guys are such long shots. But his 15%K is a real plus.
Elvis A. also seems to have a genuine shot to be legitimate MLB player , whether in the starting rotation or in the bullpen down the road.
If the team were competing for a playoff spot I would let it worry you (since each roster spot would be so important). But they are not good, so they can easily keep a roster spot open for him if they think he’s going to be a keeper. For what it’s worth I have a very, very good feeling about him. It wouldn’t surprise me if became a staple on this team. He might even get quite a bit of playing time this year.
Agree.
Why not keep him, the team is predicted to lose 85 plus in 2015.
Also, rather see him then Ben in CF, if Ben can be moved for a prospect that would be ideal.
And, finally, who the heck thumbs down your post!
I think Nevis won with the best winter showing. He very clearly has given himself a shot in spring training to make the team or at least to be an early call up mid season. Walding looks to me to be a guy that should be released, unless they want to play Green at 1B for good. Herrara will be fun to follow in ST since none of us have ever seen him play. He might compete with Cesar for a job unless they keep both of them plus Blanco on the bench but I doubt it. I suppose they could still trade Revere and open up CF for Herrera but I’m not sure about handing the starting CF job to a rule 5 guy from A ball. I think Blanco has a good hold on the back up SS job right now with Galvis as the starter.
I’m inpatient waiting for the Byrd trade which is sure to come. A Hamels deal looks less likely right now with RAJ holding out for a good deal (I have no problem with that) and a Pap deal (Toronto?) doesn’t look likely due to his personality but who knows.
