Hi everyone. I want to thank JKearse for putting this together, its taken me too long to remember to publish it, so a few of the stat lines might be out of date, but this should be a cool look at some of the guys who didn’t sign out of the 2010 draft and how they’ve done at college so far. Thanks to JKearse for putting this together.

Hallock is a guy I wished we had signed. He’s been rock solid all season long for Kent State. Their entire rotation features lefties and all have ERA’s this season under 2.00
I think Eric Pettis has been the biggest surprise. I also really like Hollands and Buchanon.
BTW, good work. Is there a link to the list of guys at extended spring training?
So, who in the hell is actually still in extended spring training that we’re dying to see in a few weeks?
Walter, Musser and Garner? Dugan? What do we have in the cupboard?
Walter, Musser, Garner, Nesseth, Dugan, Pointer are the guys that immediately come to mind.
Really excited for Water/Musser/Pointer in particular.
Of that list it looks like Garner and Dugan will make it north to Williamsport. The guy that impressed me the most of the four pitchers I saw in a couple of XST games (Inch, Garner, Pirela) was Colin Kleven. He dominated the Blue Jays XST guys on Friday for a couple of innings with fastball command. Should be a key pitcher for the Crosscutters.
is eldemire healthy? Will he be playing as well?
Check out the rosters section at the top of the page. There is a link for Extended Spring Training. I think it’s pretty accurate.
Hallock and Tomscha both seem to have had good years. Considering they were the last two picks in the draft, i dont imagine the phillies thought they would ink those guys. But those are the types of draft day picks that the phillies love to turn around and draft again, so its something to think about for the future.
as for the question on extended ST, I would add Pointer, Eldemire, and Stewart to that list.
Palka looks like a solid bat. Buchanan and Claypool absolutely don’t belong in the Sally.
Nice update–thank you!!!!!
It’s tough to take Buchanan seriously with that K rate.
agreed.
When do they move up Claypool? Or do they this year?
lot of work thank you, interesting palka looks like a future power hitter. Don’t remember much about him. did the phillies go after him hard? cant remember.
Did Frazier get hurt? I know he had one start early in the season.
Im interested in Cusick saw him play last year (i live in williamsport). He makes contact a lot. Although he doesnt seem to have much pop.
The UCLA pitching staff was just ridiculous. Bauer, Cole, Rasmussen, Claypool…
Among the players still eligible for this year’s draft (tomorrow) Keenyn Walker (BA around # 90, like that) and Justin Cummings (switch hitters) stole some bases. Any re-draft permissions sought?
Cursory look at some pitchers reveal more or near as many walks as strikeouts. Believe some were hyped and sought and decryed as losses, but may be sustainable losses.
Keenyn Walker stole 65 bases in 63 games, caught 3 times. Eye-popping stats and game log.
Should have signed Tomscha. (I know; I’m a broken record.)
I’m willing to bet he won’t be available in a slot in which the Phils want to draft him ever again.
Did you know that Anthony Rendon was previously drafted by the Braves? Sometimes, you can’t sign all the guys you draft. Can’t live in the past.
Good stuff guys. Thanks!
I can’t imagine giving up a six figure bonus for less than 20 innings pitched. College baseball is fun but what a waste of a year for some of these guys.
I am also amazed by the number of 2010 draftees that have already been released. I am sure that its typical, but its easier to quantify it when you see it on paper.
Thanks again!
