The Phillies have signed 19 of their 20 picks from the 2021 Amateur Draft and 10 non-drafter free agents.  They added  #16 RHP Ty Collins to the fold on Sunday.  They have not signed their #19 selection.  The signing bonuses for the 19 have been published.  By my calculations, they spent over their draft allotment, but within the 5% overage that carries no penalty.  They left a little over $34K on the table.  The total spent on drafted and non-drafted players is a little over $9.5 million. The Phillies have signed 18 of their 20 picks from the 2021 Amateur Draft and 10 non-drafter free agents.  They have not signed their #16 and #19 selections.  The signing bonuses for the other 18 have been released.  To date, they have a little over $40K available to apply to the $125K limit before penalties for the two outstanding picks. Yesterday, the Phillies made their first second-round draft selection in four years.  They went on to select nine players on day two of the draft.  In all. they have selected six right-handed pitchers and four outfielders in the first ten rounds.  Five of their picks, including their first pick, are prep players. Today’s final ten rounds start at noon.

Last night, the Phillies used their first-round pick to select RHP Andrew Painter, a high school pitcher out of Calvary Christian in Florida.  Let’s hope they pick as well today.
