Lehigh Valley powered past Scranton on J.P. Crawford’s sixth HR.

Reading saw their winning streak end at one

Clearwater wasted another fine pitching effort by Jose Taveras, one run in 7 innings.

Lakewood won via shut out behind Nick Fanti’s seven 3-hit innings.

Williamsport mashed 16 hits including HRs by Stobbe (5) and Listi (1) en route to victory.

The GCL Phillies won, Mezquita made his debut and Pelletier hit his first HR.

Lehigh Valley was shut out by the Nationals new pitcher, former major leaguer, Edwin Jackson.

Reading lost, Velasquez pitched three rehab innings.

Clearwater lost a slugfest.

Lakewood got a nice game from Medina.

Williamsport got pounded.

The GCL Phillies held on to win a one-run game.

I saw on Twitter that SS Dalton Guthrie has signed.  No word on the bonus.

Box Score Recap – 7/5/2017

Lehigh Valley lost, issuing more walks (12) than hits (11).  Moore hit his 4th.

Reading lost after a 6-run fifth.  Tromp hit his 11th.

Clearwater won but was out hit 13-6.

Lakewood lost but the pitching was good.

Williamsport  won, the pitching was good.  Haseley, Fitch, and Duran had multi-hit games.

The GCL Phillies won.  Quincy Nieporte had an auspicious debut with 2 hits including a HR. Jake Holmes also debuted and collected his first hit.

Another dozen transactions – 4 signings announced, 1 rehab assignment, 1 trip to the DL, and 6 more players assigned to Williamsport. Their roster now numbers 33 players.

Lehigh Valley won by shutout, Crawford hit 2 home runs.

Reading lost by shutout.  Jerad Eickhoff made a successful rehab start.

Clearwater won by a 3-hit shutout.

Lakewood won, holding the opposition to a single run.

Williamsport  won with a late rally.

The GCL Phillies won on an Edwin Rodriguez walk off HR.  Zach Eflin had a successful rehab start.

Lots of good pitching performances Tuesday.

And, lots of player movement among the affiliates – 18 level assignments, 1 rehab assignment, 4 signings, 1 DL assignment, and 1 release.

Box Score Recap – 7/3/2017

Lehigh Valley lost again and is 3-5 since June 26th.

Reading overtook Lehigh Valley for the best winning percentage in the organization. Oh, and Carlos Tocci went long for the second game in a row.  Juiced ball?  Park effect?  Law of averages?  Launch angle?  Spinach?

Clearwater lost to a couple long balls.

Lakewood dropped a Fanti start.

Williamsport got drubbed late.

The GCL Phillies lost in 10 innings, and were victims of the new extra innings rule, again.

Zach Eflin is reportedly scheduled to pitch four innings in Tuesday’s 10:00 AM GCL game.

I have removed the thumbs up/down on comments.  I’m tired of seeing even informational posts given a thumbs down.  The thumbs down fairies can either grow the “courage” to make comments when they disagree or they can go elsewhere.  I’ve had it for now.

Open Discussion: Week of July 2nd

The Phillies were 3-3 last week!  The Phillies swept a two-game series in Seattle to end the west coast swing of their road trip.  They returned to the east coast and salvaged their series against the Mets with a getaway day victory.

The Phillies offerings under their redesigned Schedule tab are too annoying to navigate. The graphics and ads make the load back and forth between pages too long to bear.  I don’t have the patience to get the team and individual info I would like to provide here.  For this I am truly sorry.
