Clearwater Threshers Recap – 8/5/2018

The Clearwater Threshers (57-52) lost to Bradenton, 3-2 in ten innings.  Alejandro Requena gave up 1 run on 4 hits in five innings.  He loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning and held the Marauders to one run on a double play.  He walked 2 and struck out four.  Trevor Bettencourt pitched a clean inning.  Jonathan Hennigan pitched two, two-hit innings.  Jake Hernandez pitched a scoreless ninth, but allowed the OT runner to score the tying run as well as the winning run.   Continue reading Clearwater Threshers Recap – 8/5/2018

Open Discussion: Week of August 5, 2018

The Phillies had a good week.  After extending their losing streak to four games with an extra inning loss to the Boston Red Sox, they bounced back with a win against the Sox, splitting the 2-game series, and swept a 4-game series from the Miami Marlins.  Their pitching staff held the “best team in baseball” to 3 runs in 21.1 innings.  And the Phillies outscored the Marlins 23-9.
