Around the System–Corner Infield

Lehigh Valley

Joey Meneses, 26, Signed as a free agent in 2018; .294/.332/.515 in 247 PA; 12HR 37RBI; 6%BB/22%K; .355 vs LHP; .255 vs RHP; .227 over last 28 days; 51 games at 1B with 1 error (.997); 9 games in the OF with 1 error and 1 OF assist; Menses has been struggling as of late, however still a nice body of work this season.

Matt McBride, 33, Signed as a free agent in 2018; .250/.357/.560 in 99PA: 7HR 14RBI; 14%BB/22%K; .267 vs LHP; .241 vs RHP; .341 last 28 days; 14 games at 1B with 1 error; 6 games caught with 1 error; A very slow start by McBride has been overcome by a very hot May/June during which he has hot for power.

Mitch Walding, 25, Phils 5th round pick in 2011; .264/.385/.477 in 234PA: 9HR 31RBI: 15%BB/29%K; .254 vs LHP; .258 vs RHP; .225 in June; 56 games at 3B with 7 errors (.953); 2 games at 1B without an error; Walding has been slumping in June after amajor league debut that saw him strike out in all 6AB’s.  That said, overall, still decent numbers this season.

Reading

Kyle Martin, 25, Phils 4th round pick in 2015; .196/.304/.357 in 175PA; 4HR 19RBI; 13%BB/21%K; .161 vs LHP; .205 vs RHP; .172 in June; 31 games at 1B with 1 error (.996); 3 games in the OF without an error; Martin continues to be nearly non existant with the bat and as such, has lost almost all his playing time to Darrick Hall.

Darick Hall, 22, Phils 14th round pick in 2016; .258/.338/.502 in 263 PA between Clearwater and Reading;15HR 44RBI; 8%BB/21%K; .229 vs LHP; .270 vs RHP; Hitting .200 in 60 PA for Reading; 55 games at 1B with 2 errors (.996).  Hall has struggled early on in his transition to Reading although still hitting with power.  I have confidence his numbers will greatly improve over the next 75PA.
