The Clearwater Threshers (27-33) lost to Charlotte, 6-5.

McKenzie Mills was called in to start for the ailing Sixto Sanchez and contributed 3.2 innings.  He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, walked none, and struck out seven.  He threw 71 pitches.  Jakob Hernandez (3.86) entered with two runners on base and stranded both.  He pitched a total of 2.1 innings and gave up a two-out run on 3 hits.  Josh Tols (1.17) gave up a run in 2.2 innings and left with a runner on base, two outs in the ninth, and a two-run lead.
