The 31-34 Threshers are 4.5 games behind first place Daytona and eliminated from contention, but their 4-game sweep of Tampa before the break eliminated the Tarpons. Clearwater Threshers Recap – 6/16/2018
The Clearwater Threshers (31-34) placed several players on the North All Star team. Bailey Falter pitched the second inning and was awarded the victory throwing a scoreless inning. He threw 14 pitches, 10 for strikes although he did give up a hit and walked a batter. Jake Hernandez was added to the team in place of Sixto Sanchez and tossed an efficient seventh inning, needing just 8 pitches, 5 strikes. Austin Listi batted four times as the DH and went 2-4 with 3 RBI. He had an RBI single in the third inning and a 2-run single in the seventh that put the game on ice. Arquimedes Gamboa started at SS and went 0-2. Darick Hall had also been voted onto the All Star team, but later was promoted to Reading. Oh, the North won 5-0.
