The 2017 Phuture Phillies Reader Top 30 continues with some additional selections.  In a very close vote, Jose Pujols was selected the #31 pick.  He received 44 of 234 votes (19%). 2017 Sleeper and Break Out Prospects

With the 2017 Reader Top 30 drawing to a close, it’s time to make your selections for sleeper and break out prospects this season.  Enter your guesses in the comments section and I will gather them into a Google Sheet for easy viewing.

Two years ago, prior to the 2015 season, I was one of two who correctly identified Andrew Knapp as a player who would have a break out season.  Last year, not only did I along with 20% of respondents predict Dylan Cozens’ break out season, but I and Anonymous VOR correctly identified Nick Fanti as a solid sleeper pick. Open Discussion: Week of January 23rd

Just over three weeks until pitchers and catchers have their first workout.  The first full team workout is three days later.  Until then, here’s another open discussion for Phillies’ talk and other topics.

The Phillies signed former Toronto outfielder Michael Saunders to a one-year contract with a club option.  To make room on the 40-man roster, Severino Gonzalez was designated for assignment.  They also signed a 19-year old RHP from Venezuela, Ruben Aponte.
