Lehigh Valley (2-0) remained undefeated as their game with the Columbus Clippers was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up Saturday as part of a doubleheader. Game one starts at 4:05 PM. The second game will begin at 6:35 PM or 30 minutes after the end of game one, whichever is later. Both games will be seven innings. The 2022 minor league season opened last night and Triple-A Lehigh Valley (1-0) posted a come-from-behind, 7-3 victory over the Columbus Clippers. The IronPigs fell behind 3-0 in the fifth inning but came roaring back with a 7-run eighth inning. Several Phillies had “a day” today. Nola looked sharp striking out 9 in 5.1 innings. He allowed one hit, a second-inning home run by the 2020 first overall pick Spencer Torkelson. It wasn’t your garden variety two-strike HR as the two battled to a 3-2 count and the HR came on the 11th pitch of the at bat. 2022 Spring Training, 3/7/2022
Minicamp has morphed into spring training. Today, the position players reported to the Complex for their physicals. The first full-squad workout will be tomorrow.
We arrived at the Complex around ten o’clock to watch any activity by the pitchers. We knew it would be a long day for us since we had heard that Abel and Painter would be pitching live BP. Those has been scheduled for after two o’clock so far.

Day 96 of Manfred’s lockout. Meetings in Florida came to a halt early last week, but a smaller group of the lead negotiators began meetings again Thursday in New York.
