XST Update: June 2, 2017

The Pirates brought two teams to the Complex, so there were games on Ashburn and Schmidt Field.  I watched the one on Ashburn because it has a scoreboard and offers better vantage points for observation.  That didn’t matter much as Roy Halladay was on hand and I didn’t pay enough attention to the games. Box Score Recap – 6/2/2017

Lehigh Valley, Reading, and Lakewood lost on the road.  Nick Williams hit his 11th home run and Mitch Walding hit 2 more, his fourth in the last two games.

Clearwater rallied to tie in the 9th and win in the 11th on Grenny Cumana’s first home run of the season.

Box Score Recap – 6/1/2017

Lehigh Valley was shut out as Hoby Milner’s 19.1 scoreless inning streak came to an end.

Reading pounded out a win with 5 HR including Scott Kingery’s 17th.

Clearwater took over first place in the division behind Wilson Garcia’s grand slam.

Box Score Recap – 5/31/2017

Lehigh Valley won as Tom Eshelman pitched a complete game shutout.

Reading won 2 games behind Tyler Viza’s shutout bolstered by 3 HR in the first; and Andrew Pullin’s walk off HR in the 13th inning in the second.

Clearwater rallied to win, Drew Stankiewicz hit a two-out, two-run, go-ahead home run.

Box Score Recap – 5/30/2017

Lehigh Valley scored a run in five different innings but fell short.  Cameron Perkins was proficient at the top of the order again.

Reading lost in 11 innings on a 2-run HR served up by Miguel Nunez.

Clearwater lost in regulation.  Randolph had 2 more hits.

Lakewood scored in 6 different innings and won behind Ranger Suarez.  Trevor Bettencourt struck out 5 in 1.2 innings.  Mickey Moniak homered.

Box Score Recap – 5/29/2017

Lehigh Valley won again, Mark Appel pitched five shutout innings.

Reading ended its losing streak with a victory.  Scott Kingery homered and Colton Murray struck out five in 2.2 innings of relief.

Lakewood pounded out 11 runs and 14 hits in a win.  Henri Lartigue hit his first HR.
