Box Score Recap – 6/14/2017

Lehigh Valley was held scoreless after Tuesday night’s offensive explosion.

Reading came from behind to claim victory.

Clearwater dropped a double header in which they scored one run and allowed 5 unearned runs.  They likely cost themselves the first half race with 4 games remaining.

Lakewood scored 14 runs on 21 hits on their way to a lop-sided victory.

2017 Draft Discussion: Day Three

Here’s the thread to continue talking about the 2017 First Year Player Draft.

With the 3:83 pick, the Phillies selected RHP Connor Seabold, Cal State Fullerton

Box Score Recap – 6/13/2017

Lehigh Valley rallied to win behind a stingy bullpen and a power surge led by four home runs and 6 doubles.

Reading shut down the opposition and won despite a couple ninth inning runs.

Clearwater scored a quick run and won the suspended game was restarted and won when rain brought it to an early end.

Lakewood scored early to support Medina’s shutout bid.

Box Score Recap – 6/12/2017 (and a brief XST report)

Lehigh Valley and Reading were not scheduled on Draft Night.

Clearwater was suspended due to rain after the top of the third, wasting a Cole Irvin start.

Lakewood’s was the only game completed among the affiliates.  They lost a one-run game.

Roman Quinn has been reported to have arrived in Clearwater to rehab without surgery.

Open Discussion: Week of June 11th

The Phillies were 2-5 last week.  Hope you enjoyed their 4-game winning streak when they won the first two games of the Atlanta series.  They floundered their way to five losses after that.

The Phillies are still the worst team in baseball with a 21-40 record and .344 winning percentage.  Things get better when they face the  Red Sox and Diamondbacks.

Lehigh Valley came from behind to win.  Williams hit his 13th HR.

Reading pulled away to victory.  Kingery hit his 18th, Walding hit two (13).

Clearwater blew the lead and the game in a 4-run 8th inning.

Lakewood responded with a win as Sixto Sanchez returned to their rotation.

Extended Spring Training is winding down.  The Phillies break camp after their last  game on Thursday June 15th.  Some players will make their way to Williamsport for the June 19th start of the NY-Penn League.  Others will prepare for the start of the GCL season on June 26th. Clearwater was held to Drew Stankiewicz’ solo HR and wasted Jose Taveras’ quality start.

Lakewood blew another late lead and fell short with their rally.
