Lakewood and Williamsport lost their games late, the BlueClaws in a walk off.
And, Mark Leiter won his first start as a Phillie with 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K. He also got his first major league hit. Diamondbacks manager, Torey Lovullo, was traded by the Tigers to the Yankees for Mark’s father on March 19, 1991, six days after Mark was born.
Lehigh Valley and Reading lost by identical 4-2 scores.
Clearwater started the second half with a win.
Lakewood and Williamsport were both shut out on 4 hits and 2 hits.
Lehigh Valley rallied for 5 runs in the ninth to complete a sweep of Pawtucket.
Reading cruised to a lop-sided victory over Akron.
Clearwater won but so did Tampa, and the Threshers miss out on the first half title.
Lakewood is on their All Star Break.
Williamsport dropped their second home game of the season.

Clearwater moved one game closer to securing the FSL first half division title.
Williamsport won their opener behind Kyle Young’s five shutout innings.
Reading and Lakewood were scheduled off.
The Phillies were 1-6 last week. The lone bright spot was their 1-0 victory over the Red Sox and Chris Sale. Nick Pivetta laid out the blue print for the rest of the starting rotation – throw seven shutout innings and hope the bull pen doesn’t screw it up. The Phillies were lucky that Pat Neshek and Hector Neris were able to close out the final two innings and the offense was able to scratch out a run.
After a day off Monday, three games at home v. the Cardinals and three on the road in Arizona.
The Phillies are still the worst team in baseball with a 22-46 record and .324 winning percentage. Things get better when they face the Red Sox and Diamondbacks.
