2022 Phuture Phillies Readers’ Vote: #5 Prospect

On to the vote for the #5 prospect in the organization.  There are 26 players listed in the poll below.

The number four spot went to Logan O’Hoppe by a substantial margin.  He received 70 of the 107 votes cast (65.4%).  Johan Rojas finished second with 25 votes (23.4%).  Hans Crouse received three votes.  Mickey Moniak and Luis Garcia received two each.  Erik Miller, Matt Vierling, Francisco Morales, Ethan Wilson, and Kyle Dohy received one each.

In addition to voters in the US, we received votes from Korea and Israel.  Both countries went to O’Hoppe.

A separate write-up on O’Hoppe can be found here.

If you feel I am not going to get to your guy early enough, by all means, ask me to add him in the comments section.

  1. Johan Rojas is my pick here. For a long time he was ahead of O’Hoppe but the Arizona Fall Ball pushed O’Hoppe ahead of him.

  2. Rojas for me. I had him at #4, but very close. Some combo of the Garcias, Erik Miller, Wilson and Marchan are next.

  3. How can you not go with Vierling? He already made to the majors and has been successful. He could have a very good career.

    1. Denny….comes down to personal preference….proximity vs ceiling potential.

Sure Vierling is there……but he may be the 4th OFer on a club or that versatility guy….and they do have a tremendous influence on a club’s success, ie Kike Hernandez, Zobrist, Marwin Gonzo et al.

  4. I like Vierling, Denny, but I vote others over him because of their ceilings. Or, to be more accurate, what I perceive as their ceilings. Vierling’s may be a platoon or 4th OF. I expect, or hope, Rojas, the Garcias and Wilson become every day players on contending teams. I could also be completely wrong.

  5. I have Rojas here and it’s a pretty easy call for me. If Rojas reaches his potential he’s a first-division regular and he’s still pretty young.
