  1. Pujols, Alfaro, Crawford and Brown all good days. I see a lot of player movement happening now.

    1. Tim,

Homer-Or-Nothing Pujols still has just a 280 OBP, 720 OPS and lots of Ks. He’s promising, but maybe not worth promotion yet.

Crawford batting 303 in the last eight games.

  2. Hoskins, who was el fuego for a while there, is cold as ice in his last 5 games. He’s 1 – 18 over that stretch but still hitting .316 over his last 10 games. Cozens has followed suit. He’s 3 – 18 in his last 5 games but still hitting .308 over his last 10 games. The bash brothers truly are joined at the hip. When one gets sick, the other throws up.

Hoby Milner gave up only his 3rd earned run of the year. In 32 2/3 IP he has 36 Ks and 9 BBs. Relief fits him.

Nobody is hotter than Tromp. He’s cut down on his Ks moreso recently than earlier in the year. He is closing in on the most BBs he’s had in a season and it’s in less than half the games. He has more doubles this year than in any other season (less than half the games). He’s still showing HR power. It’s all good. It’s time for a challenge. After the all star game he should be moved to CLW.

Ty Gilbert bounced back from a lousy outing last time out. I really like to see that. He’s given up a lot of hits and has a lot to continue to work on but he’s moving in the right direction.

  3. Elfin did good in his first home outing. Start3d to figure things out.
10 more days of good hitting and Tromp will get the organizational player of the month.

Clearwater and Lakewood first halves are done.
I wonder who will be moved up, who will be demotwd, and who will be release.

    1. The Threshers’ first half is NOT done. They have been eliminated 3.5 games behind the Tampa Yankees with three games to play. They begin a 3-game series v. Lakeland tonight. At the conclusion of that series, their first half will be completed.

      1. I see I spelled his name wrong. It’s Wojciechowski. Maybe I don’t want them to sign him since spelling his name is an alphabet lesson or a Scrabble million score. Reminds me of the old Barney Miller show. My name is Woj-a-hoe-itz. How do you spell that? The same as it sounds.

      2. Not sure the article indicate that he career is over due to the elbow injury. Not sure why the Phillies wouldn’t sign him. as a 15th round college senior he’s not getting a big $$$ signing bonus regardless.

  4. Nice second start by Eflin , too bad the big club is offensively offensive, historically horrific, pathetically pathetic….

  5. I love Pujols’ power, but being a three true outcomes guy already in Low A does not bode well for his future potential. It looks like he just tries to pull anything in the strike zone out of the park every AB. (look at the spray chart below … tons of HR to left and many, many groundouts). I wonder if instructing him to shorten his swing and focus on making solid contact (like they did with Cozens last year) might be a good exercise for him.
