  1. Nice pitching for the pharm thus far, Brown is a monster, Gillies has been very disapointing. I love what we’re seeing out of Santana despite the K’s, the underlying plate discipline is impressive for a 17 yr old.

  2. Overbeck’s extremely low BB rate is a nice warning flag to go with his Age.

He needs to be in Reading to see if this is real or not.

  3. It has been one month and Gillies is 21 years old in AA for the 1st time. His start is not worthy of panic. My only concern is that he is striking out too much right now.

  4. Dom Brown had another big game today. How long do you think it will be until he gets the call? They come into Altoona May 28 and I was hoping to see him play. I keep thinking how long they waited with Michael Taylor and there are some decent outfielders in AAA so Im hoping they hold off. What do you thikn?

  5. Like what Naylor did tonight with 6K’s and 12 ground ball outs. He can be effective when he keeps the ball in the park and on the ground. After five starts with the exception of giving up 5 long balls to Aumont’s 0, Drew has a slightly lower ERA and WHIP, fewer walks and more strike outs than the up and down Aumont.

  6. Dom Brown will not be called up anytime soon. John Mayberry would be the first call up for playing time in the majors. Also, Dom will be at AA probably until at least the all star break at AA.

Gillies has been doing alot better as of late, he really got off to a horrible start but over his last 11 games he has 5 multi-hit games and hitting .289 over that stretch, I think he will be fine. I just would like to see him walking more and i dont understand where his speed is with no steals yet

  7. If I’m the Phillies, I want to get Dom Brown to AAA as soon as reasonably possible. Why? Because in AAA, he’s going to see a lot of guys who are bona fide AAAA players, including many LOOGYs who may not be big leaguers, but know how to set up a hitter and make an unschooled lefty look bad. We need to see if he can adjust to that quickly.

But I can’t imagine that Mayberry’s progress has anything to do with Brown being promoted – there’s plenty of ABs in AAA for the both of them.

  8. My concern about Gillies is what has been written by scouts,Before he moved up, they doubt his hitting ability at higher levels. and its looks like so far its true.really like to see them move up overbeck.

  9. I know it happened back in the beginning of April but I don’t know if anyone ever saw that Mike Costanzo was actually released by the Orioles. they wanted him to try and pitch because he couldnt hit for crap, and he decided not to do that. I thought it was interesting.

  10. I just realized that when I check the CLW and LWD boxscores every morning that I no longer even look to see what Hewitt did.

  11. On a ramdon note, does anybody know what happend to Julian Sampson? He was in Clearwater last year, but haven’t heard anything about him this year.

  12. Does anyone know who is starting for CLW tonight? It doesn’t show the projected starter for them on their site. If this was yesterday I would have speculated a Nick Hernandez move but it isn’t so I doubt it’s anything but I still found it interesting.
