Threshers Recap – 7/25/2019

I was a little bothered at the response to the Ochart interview and excerpts I provided yesterday.  I spent a lot of time finding a way to present Mitch Rupert’s tweets in a contiguous fashion.  The comments were puzzling. Continue reading Threshers Recap – 7/25/2019

Threshers Recap – 7/24/2019

I’ve noticed a lot of reaction to the season Luis Garcia is having.  I did try to get y’all to temper your expectations regarding Garcia.  It was never fair of anyone to expect him to rise through the organization like a Ronald Acuna.  Garcia is talented in his own right and will develop in his own time. Open Discussion: Week of July 22nd

Former Phillies’ pitcher, Roy Halladay, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on Sunday.  I spoke with Roy briefly at a bingo fund raiser for his boys’ little league organization that his wife Brandy had organized with several other mothers of participating youngsters.  It was the only time I ever spoke with Roy. Threshers Recap – 7/20/2019

There were several individual and team highlights last night.  Spencer Howard turned in yet another powerful performance for Clearwater.  I’m not sure that I’ll get to see him pitch during the Threshers’ next home stand.  Lakewood’s Ethan Lindow had another excellent outing.  I expect the 20-year-old will be making an appearance at Spectrum Field before the end of the season.

Reading produced four solo HRs in a losing effort.  Lehigh Valley rallied from way behind in another losing effort.  Williamsport got superb relief pitching in an extra-inning win.   Clearwater and Lehigh Valley also got strong, back end pitching from their relief corps.

And, the GCL teams played tough against each other. Continue reading Threshers Recap – 7/20/2019
