For the first time since 2015, the Phuture Phillies top prospect will be some one other than J.P. Crawford. Sanchez received 105 of 254 votes cast (41%). Well, here we go. This should take us through the end of January. A short two weeks later, pitchers and catchers can report on February 13th and have their first work out the following day, signalling the start of spring training. Time to get ready for the 2018 Reader Top 30 Prospect Poll. I will start polling in a week or so, and plan on posting a poll each weekday. We will continue to follow baseball’s standards for prospect lists which states –
“To be eligible for a list, a player must have rookie eligibility. To qualify for rookie status, a player must not have exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues, or accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the 25-player limit period, excluding time on the disabled list or in military service.”
