The stateside affiliates went 3-1.  Lehigh Valley kicked butt.  Reading rallied and held on.  Jersey Shore got two-hit,  and Clearwater see-sawed back and forth for six innings before breaking the game open.

Let’s see.  Erik Miller pitched well in his first action after being activated from the IL.  Ethan Lindow pitched well for Jersey Shore.  Clearwater got five home runs, two by Luis Garcia.  Josh Gessner and Corey Phelan combined to throw eight shutout innings for the FCL Phillies.  Other than that, Lehigh Valley lost.  Reading Lost.  Jersey Shore lost.  Clearwater lost ugly.  Both DSL teams lost, again.  Only the FCL Phillies managed to win. Big day today, doubleheader at the Complex and a Mick Abel start at the Ballpark.  I’m a little wiped out, so the recaps will be short.

Lehigh Valley lost in a walk-off.  Reading blew their game late.  Jersey Shore won in a blowout.  And, Clearwater won a game but watched their top prospect leave the game early.  The FCL Phillies swept a doubleheader.  The DSL teams both lost in weather-shortened games. Lehigh Valley and Reading lost.  Jersey Shore posted the organization’s only win.  Clearwater lost but got an interesting 3.1 innings from Rodolfo Sanchez who struck out ten.  The FCL Phillies were off.  And, the DSL doesn’t schedule games on Wednesdays or Sundays. Let’s hope the Phillies drafted better than the affiliates played yesterday.  Everybody lost except the Complex team.  Well, we know why Cam Bedrosian was available.  He blew a save and took the loss for Lehigh Valley.  Reading got beat bad.  Jersey Shore got shut out wasting some good pitching.  Clearwater got beat like they got caught stealing something while their opponent ran wild on the basepaths.  And, both DSL teams combined to lose four games at the start of their seasons.  Only the FCL Phillies managed to avoid losing, posting wins Monday and Tuesday. Lehigh Valley beat the Red Sox, too!  WooHoo!  Reading blew a lead and lost.  Jersey Shore was shut out on three hits.  And, Clearwater was suspended in the ninth with the game tied.  The FCL Phillies don’t play on Sundays.  And, the  DSL starts tomorrow.  I provided some DSL information below, but I don’t expect to go into great detail on those games in the Recap during the season.
