Lehigh Valley (48-36) Beat Charlotte, 8-7 in 13 innings.  The IronPigs scored single runs in the bottom of the ninth and tenth innings to tie the game and finally won on Nick Williams RBI single.  The ‘Pigs tied the game in the ninth on Cedric Hunter’s RBI single, and in the tenth on Logan Moore’s third home run.

Phil Klein was tabbed to start in place of James Russell.  Klein and Colton Murray gave up three runs each before the bullpen held the Knights to one run for the next nine innings. Brock Stassi got the win.  Hunter had a HR (6) and 4 RBI (31). Continue reading Box Score Recap – 7/3/2016 →

The Phillies’ #25 draft pick, Trevor Bettencourt was at the Complex.  He was wearing the pitcher’s game day uniform for pitchers not scheduled to pitch – red shirt (with name) and blue shorts.  The RHP from UC – Santa Barbara is a junior and stands 6’0, 195.

Look for “C” Randolph to rejoin the BlueClaws next week.  He was overheard behind the cage saying that he would join the team on the road in Delmarva.  If the “Jordan Rule” still applies, he will play complete games the 2 days before he leaves Clearwater.  He did not play today. C Andrew Knapp, OF Cam Perkins and RHP Edward Mujica will serve as the IronPigs’ representatives at the 29^th annual Triple-A All-Star Game to be played on July 13 at BB&T Bank Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C., the International League announced on Wednesday. Wednesday, the Phillies’ future walked to the plate with one out in the first inning. Lehigh Valley (45-33) Lost to Columbus, 5-3.  Ben Lively took the loss, allowing all 5 of the Clippers’ runs.  Emmanuel Burriss (.288) and Darin Ruf (.291) each had 2 hits.  The IronPigs only managed six.  Ruf hit his 9th HR and picked up his 33rd RBI. Lehigh Valley (45-32) Beat Durham, 3-2 in 10 innings.  The IronPigs tied the game on a two-out, RBI  single in the ninth inning.  They went ahead in the tenth on David Lough’s RBI ground out and Logan Moore’s RBI double.  The extra run came in handy when Edward Mujica loaded the bases with one out and Tahylor Featherston committed a run scoring error.  Former IronPig J.P.
