Another Round of Transactions

The Phillies activated a couple more players and over two dozen of their minor league players elected free agency today. 

The Phillies activated RHP James McArthur and CF Simon Muzziotti from the 60-day Injury List.

The following 27 players elected free agency –

  • Lehigh Valley (20) – RHP Mark Appel, RHP Trevor Bettencourt, RHP Nick Duron, LHP Kent Emanuel, LHP Jace Fry, RHP Ofreidy Gomez, LHP Jonathan Hennigan, RHP James Marvel, LHP Braeden Ogle, RHP Bubby Rossman, LHP Ryan Sherriff, 2B Daniel Brito, SS Ali Castillo, 3B Yairo Munoz, 1B Josh Ockimey, 2B Daniel Robertson, RF Jorge Bonifacio, LF Dustin Peterson, CF Chris Sharpe, and RF Justin Williams.
  • Reading (6)RHP Joel Cesar, 1B Aldrem Corredor, SS Jonathan Guzman, 2B Wendell Rijo, SS Kevin Vicuna, and LF Josh Stephen.
  • Clearwater (1) RHP Andrew Brown.

These were actually from the tenth but didn’t begin posting until Friday afternoon.

More transactions are pending.  There are at least eight guys still on an injury list.

Older Transactions


The Phillies signed free agent LHP Wesley Moore to a minor league contract.

They also activated 13 players – RHP Tyler Phillips, 3B Matt Kroon, LHP Spencer Van Scoyoc, SS Casey Martin, LHP Jhordany Mezquita, CF Yhoswar Garcia, RHP Tommy McCollum, RHP Eduar Segovia, RHP Micah Ottenbreit, RHP Nathan Karaffa, OF Gavin Tonkel, RHP DrewGarrett, and OF Gabriel Rincones Jr. from either the 60-day or Full Season Injury Lists.


The Phillies claimed RHP Luis Ortiz and LHP Andrew Vasquez off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.  Both are relievers.

The Phillies outrighted four pitchers and an infielder:  RHP Mark Appel, RHP Hans Crouse, LHP Kent Emanuel, LHP Damon Jones, and infielder Yairo Munoz.


Jean Segura and Zach Eflin elected free agency.


The Philles saw six players elect free agency – RHP Corey Knebel, RHP Noah Syndergaard, RHP David Robertson, RHP Kyle Gibson, LHP Brad Hand, and RHP Chris Devenski.

The Phillies exercised Aaron Nola’s option. declined Jean Segura’s option, and saw Zach Eflin decline his option.
