Phillies and Farm Transactions

Tthe Phillies signed free agent LHP Wesley Moore to a minor league contract and activated a baker’s dozen players.

Moore is a 23-year-old Canadian who played two years in the Big West Conference with Cal-State Northridge in 2018-19 and two years with Kansas State in the Big Twelve in 2021-22.

Moore only saw action in 44 college games and 129 innings.  He had high K and BB  rates in college.  But, in a small sample of 16.1 innings with Bellingham in the West Coast League, he posted rates of 2.8 BB9 and 15.4 K9.

The organization also made a bunch of “bookkeeping” transactions activating players throughout the system.

Lehigh Valley activated RHP Tyler Phillips from the Full Season IL.

Reading activated 3B Matt Kroon from the 60-day IL.

Jersey Shore activated LHP Spencer Van Scoyoc and SS Casey Martin from the 60-day IL and LHP Jhordany Mezquita from the Full Season IL.

Clearwater activated CF Yhoswar Garcia, RHP Tommy McCollum, and RHP Eduar Segovia from the 60-day IL, and RHP Micah Ottenbreit from the Full Season IL.

The FCL Phillies activated RHP Nathan Karaffa from the 60-day IL and OF Gavin Tonkel from the 60-day IL, and RHP Drew Garrett and OF Gabriel Rincones Jr. from the Full Season IL.

11/9/2022

The Phillies claimed RHP Luis Ortiz and LHP Andrew Vasquez off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.  Both are relievers.

The Phillies outrighted four pitchers and an infielder:  RHP Mark Appel, RHP Hans Crouse, LHP Kent Emanuel, LHP Damon Jones, and infielder Yairo Munoz.

The Philles saw six players elect free agency – RHP Corey Knebel, RHP Noah Syndergaard, RHP David Robertson, RHP Kyle Gibson, LHP Brad Hand, and RHP Chris Devenski.

The Phillies exercised Aaron Nola’s option. declined Jean Segura’s option, and saw Zach Eflin decline his option.
