The affiliates won three of five games played last night including Clearwater’s first win of the season. Lehigh Valley split a doubleheader. And, Reading won in a blow-out.

Victories last night for Reading and Jersey Shore. Lehigh Valley and Clearwater (who is still looking for that elusive first win of the season) were beat handily. A couple of pitchers were optioned by the Phillies back to Lehigh Valley last night. I wonder if that means Norwood is ready to be activated. And, maybe one of Coonrod/Sherriff. Lehigh Valley lost the series finale and settled for a split of their 6-game series. Reading won Sunday to avoid a sweep. But, Jersey Shore and Clearwater could not avoid the broom. Matt Kroon, who left Saturday’s game with an apparent injury in the first inning after a failed steal attempt, was placed on the IL on Sunday by Reading. Everybody lost again last night although Lehigh Valley posted a win in their split with Columbus. Abel and Painter made their initial starts for the season. Valley lost their first game of the season. Reading, Jersey Shore, and Clearwater lost their home openers. Hopefully, this is an anomaly. Phillies Affiliates’ Recap (4/7/2022)
Lehigh Valley (2-0) remained undefeated as their game with the Columbus Clippers was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up Saturday as part of a doubleheader. Game one starts at 4:05 PM. The second game will begin at 6:35 PM or 30 minutes after the end of game one, whichever is later. Both games will be seven innings.
