Tom Sutera struck out six in three, one-hit innings. Anton Kuznetsov got the win striking out two in a two-hit, scoreless inning. Blake Bennett struck out two in a perfect inning for the save.
The Crosscutters scored single runs in the first and third innings on a double steal (Edgar Made stole second and Julio Francisco stole home) and Brayan Gonzalez’ RBI single. They cut the deficit in half on a throwing error in the eighth and went ahead with 2 runs in the ninth on Christian Valerio’s sac fly and a wild pitch.

Phuture Phillies 
LKW has quietly won 4 straight and some of that comes from better hitting. They’ve notched double digits in hits in 5 of their last 6 games. The runs are still pretty sparse but with more hits an extra run or two has come along with it. I would like to see the light come on for Luis Garcia but everyone else is trying to pick up the slack. I’m sure if they dropped him to the lower part of the order the team would do better and maybe it would take some pressure off him. He is supposed to be an elite prospect so I’m not against hitting him in the top or even middle of the lineup. In the words of an old coach I had, “You gonna hit where I tell you to hit, until you finally hit.”
Jose Conopoima starts today for Williamsport. I don’t know what kind of arm he has but he’s been on my radar since he had a strong debut season in the DSL at age 17; he’s 19 now. Smallish, left-handed and produced good results in the GCL last year as well.

I watched the Reading gm last night and I’m watching now as well. Sometimes the scorecard doesn’t do justice. Last night moniak crushed a line drive to Center first time up for an out and then his last time up hit one 400 ft to the deepest part of the ballpark and the cf went up against the wall and caught it going away. Now in today’s game his second time up, he just hit a ball a little left of center and same thing cf caught it up against the wall 400 ft. Even the announcer was saying how hard he hit those balls with nothing to show for it. I know the ball doesn’t travel there very well he was saying. Most of their ballparks those were both gone. He looks good at the plate. Just doesn’t always have anything to show for it like a lot of other kids as well. I have hope moniak will live up to everything everyone expects. You can see his confidence at the plate.
