Alberto Tirado was your selection as the #20 prospect in the Phillies’ organization.  Tirado received 115 of 302 votes (38%) to achieve a substantial plurality victory.  Elniery Garcia led a distant group of prospects for second place with 36 votes (12%). Phillies Announce 2017 Non-Roster Spring Invites

The Phillies have announced the following 16 players as non-roster invites to spring training this season – J.P. CrawfordRhys Hoskins, Scott KingeryVictor Arano, Logan Moore, Colton Murray, Chace Numata, Cameron Perkins, Brock Stassi, Andrew PullinPedro Beato, Taylor Featherston, Dalier Hinojosa, Michael Mariot, Bryan Holaday, and Cesar Ramos.

They join recent the four FA signings who were extended an invitation to spring training when they signed – Sean Burnett, Pedro FlorimonHector GomezDaniel Nava.

I’m not surprised by the inclusion of any the players listed above.  In addition to these guys, I expect to see several catchers not listed above in camp.  The pitching workload is too heavy for six catchers to handle.

Ben Lively was your selection as the #19 prospect in the Phillies’ organization.  Lively received 87 of 289 votes (30%) to achieve a slim, plurality victory over Alberto Tirado (85 votes, 29%).  The two vote difference was the closest vote this year, tighter than Franklyn Kilome’s 3-vote victory over Sixto Sanchez for #6. Phuture Phillies 2017 Reader Top 30 Poll for #15

Andrew Knapp was your selection as the #14 prospect in the Phillies’ organization.  Knapp received 77 of 284 votes (27%) to achieve a plurality victory over Jhailyn Ortiz and Adonis Medina who received 47 and 45 votes respectively for 17% and 16% of the vote.  One of my favorites Bailey Falter had a surprisingly strong showing (39 votes, 14%) for fourth place.   Continue reading Phuture Phillies 2017 Reader Top 30 Poll for #15
