  1. Some rumblings of Tommy Joseph not long for the show. Will be good to never see Darin Ruf play baseball again.

    1. Run isn’t great (understatement), but no need to trash the guy. He’s just one of several Phillies not hitting his weight.

        1. Listen, I dont have any problem with Ruf the person, and you don’t have to “trash” the guy, but come on, we can call a spade a spade. Hes not very good at baseball. He’s a one-dimensional hitter who is not even showing that dimension right now and can’t even hit lefties. His natural power is something that will always appeal to baseball fans since the home run is the essence of the game, but the minors are full of guys with his kind of power.

It’s time to pull the plug on him, if he gets scooped up on waivers, it is what it is, but how long can you let a guy hitting close to .400 at AAA just linger there while Ruf does nothing and harms the ML team.

I’ve said this a few times; now is the time to see guys like Perkins and Joseph; guys who are not cornerstones of the future but may or may not be able to play at the ML level. Now is the time to find out. We don’t need Peter Bourjous hitting .185 or Darren Ruf hitting pop ups every night. See what Perkins and Joseph can do; if they can’t hit ML pitching at least we can go into next year knowing what they are

          1. TJ and Perkins need to be put on the 40 first.
So you suggest DFA Ruf for one spot vacancy…..not sure moving Charlie Morton from 15-to-60 day meets the requirement for the other for Perkins.
If not, DFA Burriss or Lough, since Perkins can play all three OF positions.

            1. Exactly, there is nothing he has done in his career or this year to think Burriss is a ML player. So hes fast. Big deal, no room on the 40 for a pinch runner.

    2. John, you sound like one of the lame brains who call into sports talk radio. Not a clue about talent evaluation.

  2. anyone watch the Reading game? Don’t agree with the interference call on Crawford, would have been a tie game had they not called it.

    1. I didnt see the game, but if your logic is “the home run would have been a 3 run home run” then that is flawed logic because there is no guarantee that in that situation Cozens would have homered

  3. Nice to see The HR’S hit could have a couple of guys in double digits. Really like the double hit by a Goeddel might see an increase in power.
