Open Discussion: Week of April 20th

Here’s an open discussion thread so the minor league posts don’t get cluttered with Phillies’ talk and other topics.

Under other topics – I just listened to the ESPN color analyst (John Kruk?) blame a terrible throw by Yadier Molina on the pitcher because of his high leg kick.  Really?  Molina can’t make a bad throw without it being somebody else’s fault?

Phillies lost and are 4-9 on the season, 1-6 over the last  week, and had a 6-game losing streak.  Anybody still watching?  Still care?  I think I’ll track something I know you care about – Papelbon 3 saves in 3 save opportunities, 4 games finished.

Box Score Recap – 4/19/2015

Lehigh Valley lost 5-4 to Buffalo.  Colton Murray blew a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth.  Maikel Franco went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles (#7 and 8) and an RBI ( #8).  He is hitting .386 for the season, so far. Continue reading Box Score Recap – 4/19/2015

Sunday notes, 19 April 2015

Hello, it’s me. I have a few brief thoughts on the first few weeks of the season and of course the upcoming MLB draft. My hope is that I will be able to start writing more frequently. Work and other obligations have kept me very busy recently, and I have quite a bit of upcoming travel, so it may be tough, but I am going to do my best.

Box Score Recap – 4/18/2015

Lehigh Valley lost to Buffalo, 2-1.  Maikel Franco had 2 of the ‘Pigs 4 hits.  Dom Brown was in the line up and went 0-4.  P.J. Clemens lasted 3 innings throwing 74 pitches (39/34)and walking seven.  Seth Rosin took the loss. Continue reading Box Score Recap – 4/18/2015

Threshers Win Again; April 18, 2015

The Threshers began the day alone in first place in the FSL North Division.  They beat the Lakeland Flying Tigers 7-3 in a regular nine inning game.  The win raised their record to 7-3 and they remained in sole possession of first place in their division.
