Hot or Not

A look back at the time period of May 15-21…Looks like our #1 Not Hot Starter, David Buchanan, may be on his way to Philly to replace Cliff Lee in the rotation…I have to admit, Andrew Knapp is starting to worry me…With Willians Astudillo starting to catch more regularly, the fact that he continues to scald the ball becomes more intriguing…The transition to AAA for Kenny Giles seems to have been a smooth one from his early numbers…Just when some thought Justin DeFratus was fixed, he ends up taking a step backwards….The Reading bullpen was outstanding this week (Knigge, Murray, O’Sullivan, Ogando)

  1. Real disappointing to see De Fratus struggling at the minor league level…I thought this might be the year he became a real solid middle relief option

  2. I’ve been really disappointed with Knapp’s strikeouts thus far. Maybe he’s a little over his head and should be moved down.

    1. He is 22 in CLW if he is over his head there he really isn’t much of a prospect. Looking back to WPT last season he was ok but again left me unimpressed. Guys coming out of college will usually flash very quickly if they are going to be anything.

Now the silver lining: Who knows what his injury is holding back in terms of his swing. I know TJ for a position player is a little different.

      1. Also important to know he had a shorter spring than many players and it was against much lower level players than you would normally have a guy like him facing.
