Since the Phillies high-water mark of 14-7 (.667), they have shown an inability to win series within their division and have gone 4-8 the last two weeks. They are 7-13 in the division.
The Phillies dropped both series this week, winning one game in each versus the Diamondbacks and Braves. Their 2-4 record for the week dropped them into a tie for second with the Braves in the division.

Even after a 1-4 start, the Phillies are 14-7 and have a .667 winning percentage. Where are all the fans who wanted to fire the manager, GM, and most of the front office now?
The Phillies have 13 wins in their last 16 games. They are fresh off a 4-game sweep of a 12-6, Pittsburgh Pirates’ team that came to town with a 1.5 game lead in the NL Central Division and leaves town in third place 1.5 games out of first. It was the Phillies third series sweep of the season.

I opened last week’s discussion stating that the Phillies were 3-5. Well, they reeled off 6 wins, sweeping the Reds and Rays. Granted, the Reds and Rays are two teams that the Phillies should beat. But, back to back sweeps is impressive.

The Phillies are 3-5 and are starting a series against the Reds.

The Phillies signed Scott Kingery to a major league contract. While some people thought Kingery should make the team out of camp, and more than some expected Kingery to be promoted two weeks into the season, Nobody here saw this. Congratulations to Scott! (You too, TK.)
The Phillies made a few other moves, a little less surprising, as they move toward their opening day roster.
