Some All Star honors were announced this week.

C Andrew Knapp, OF Cam Perkins and RHP Edward Mujica will serve as the IronPigs’ representatives at the 29th annual Triple-A All-Star Game to be played on July 13 at BB&T Bank Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C., the International League announced on Wednesday. Box Score Recap – 6/29/2016

Wednesday, the Phillies’ future walked to the plate with one out in the first inning. Box Score Recap – 6/27/2016

Lehigh Valley (45-33) Lost to Columbus, 5-3.  Ben Lively took the loss, allowing all 5 of the Clippers’ runs.  Emmanuel Burriss (.288) and Darin Ruf (.291) each had 2 hits.  The IronPigs only managed six.  Ruf hit his 9th HR and picked up his 33rd RBI. Open Discussion: Week of June 27th

Here’s the open discussion thread for Phillies’ talk and other topics.

The Phillies are 32-45.  They went 2-5 last week.  They closed out their home stand with a loss against Arizona then went 1-2 in both Minnesota and San Francisco.  Their win against the Giants came against Bumgarner.  Go figure. Continue reading Open Discussion: Week of June 27th →

Box Score Recap – 6/26/2016

Lehigh Valley (45-32) Beat Durham, 3-2 in 10 innings.  The IronPigs tied the game on a two-out, RBI  single in the ninth inning.  They went ahead in the tenth on David Lough’s RBI ground out and Logan Moore’s RBI double.  The extra run came in handy when Edward Mujica loaded the bases with one out and Tahylor Featherston committed a run scoring error.  Former IronPig J.P. Box Score Recap – 6/25/2016

Lehigh Valley (44-32) Beat Durham, 7-1.  Anthony Vasquez (1-0, 4.32) scattered 7 hits and struck out 7 while allowing one run in 6.1 innings.  Andrew Knapp had 3 hits, J.P. Crawford had two.  Carlos Alonso had 2 RBI.  Brock Stassi (.265) drew 4 of the IronPigs’ 11 walks.  The Bulls struck out 15 IronPigs’ batters.  Taylor Featherston (.267) led the way with 4 K.  Darin Ruf (.291) followed with three. Box Score Recap – 6/24/2016

Lehigh Valley (43-32) Beat Durham, 4-1.  David Buchanan (4-4, 4.54) allowed a first inning run then went on to hold the Bulls to one run on 5 hits and a walk in 6.0 innings.  Edward Mujica (3.94) posted his 18th save.  J.P. Box Score Recap – 6/23/2016

Lehigh Valley (42-32) Lost to Norfolk, 6-0.  James Russell (2-3, 5.01) had a rough outing that culminated with a sixth inning grand slam by the Tides.  Phil Klein made his IronPigs’ debut in relief.  Mario Hollands (2.31) pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning.  He went 1.2 innings and allowed a walk and a single on 21 pitches/15 strikes.  The IronPigs were limited to 4 base runners, 4 singles. Lehigh Valley (42-31) Beat Norfolk, 2-1.  Ben Lively allowed a first inning run on a solo home run then held the Tides to 2 more hits and a walk in 7.0 innings.  Colton Murray (1-1, 5.56) got the win.  Edward Mujica (4.06) got his 17th save.  J.P.
