The Clearwater Threshers (48-48) beat the Florida Fire Frogs, 4-2. Ramon Rosso (1.99) gave up an unearned run in the first inning then shut the Frogs down. He pitched 5.2 innings, gave up 5 hits and 4 walks, and struck out just one. Jonathan Hennigan pitched a scoreless inning in his Threshers’ debut. Jake “Jakob with a K” Hernandez (3-0, 2.73) struck out one in one, one-hit inning and got the win. Addison Russ (3.55) gave up a run in the ninth but held on for his second save. Made my first trip to the Complex in over a week. Kyle Young is in town. Sixto Sanchez was walking around. Spoke briefly with Dickie Noles, Joe Jordan, Sal Agostinelli, and Charley. Saw Alec Bohm walking around carrying a bat. He did not have a boot on his foot and seemed to be walking well. I didn’t recognize him at first. He was back in the club house before I realized who he was. Also spent some time talking to the father and uncle of one of our new pitchers. Clearwater Threshers Recap – 7/18/2018
The Clearwater Threshers (47-47) beat Daytona, 5-2. This would be the organization’s only stateside win today. Mauricio Llovera (3-7, 4.14) Pitched six innings and held the Tortugas to one run a solo HR in the sixth. He gave up 4 hits, walked none, and struck out five. He threw 82 pitches, 52 strikes. Alberto Tirado (1.80) brought back memories with a no-run, no-hit, 2 strike out, 3-walk inning as only he can – BB, BB, K, K looking, BB, F9, on 25 pitches, 10 strikes. The Clearwater Threshers (46-47) beat Daytona, 5-1. Felix Paulino (1-3, 3.18) pitched six, one-run innings on six hits and 2 walks. He struck out four. Blake Quinn (5.31) pitched two, scoreless innings. And, Addison Russ (3.09) struck out two in one inning.

The Clearwater Threshers (45-47) beat Daytona, 6-2. Alejandro Requena (2-2, 4.50) pitched six solid innings allowing one run on 5 hits. He walked one and struck out eight. Grant Dyer (6.75) gave up a run in two innings. Addison Russ (.338) struck out 2 in one inning of work.

The Clearwater Threshers (44-47) beat the Florida Fire Frogs, 5-3. Ranfi Casimiro started and gave up 2 runs in a season high four innings. The Phillies limped into the All Star break with a disappointing 6-5 record on after an 11-game road trip against the Pirates (.495), Mets (.415), Orioles (.289), and Marlins (.418). They enter the break with a 53-42 (.558) record, the third best record in the National League, behind Chicago (.591) and Milwaukee (.561), and a half-game lead over the equally surprising Atlanta Braves (52-42, .553).
