2011 Reader Top 30, #10

Today we round out the top 10, with Tyson Gillies narrowly edging out Justin De Fratus for the #9 spot. I expect the voting after #10 to get really interesting. Remember, if you want to write in someone, or you want someone else added to the poll, please type the word OTHER in all caps in the comments. When searching for names to add, I do a search for the word other, and then add the names listed. Its easy. Anyway, lets get to it.

1. Domonic Brown, OF
2. Jon Singleton, OF
3. Jarred Cosart, RHP
4. Brody Colvin, RHP
5. Trevor May, RHP
6. Sebastian Valle, C
7. Vance Worley, RHP
8. Jesse Biddle, LHP
9. Tyson Gillies, OF
10.

2011 Reader Top 30, #9

The voting was fairly close early, but Jesse Biddle stormed out to a substantial lead and takes the #8 spot with relative ease. The voting for #9 should be very very interesting. As I always remind you, if you want to write in a vote for someone not listed, vote the OTHER option, and then in the comments section write the word OTHER as well as your choice. That’s how I find them. Thanks.

The voting was close for #7, but Vance Worley takes it by about 30 votes over Jesse Biddle. Julio Rodriguez, Harold Garcia and Justin De Fratus will be added to the poll now. Just a reminder, if you want to place a write-in vote, vote for OTHER, and then type OTHER in your comment when you list your choice. Sometimes I can’t read through 100 comments to pick out who people want to put in for future voting. Lets get to #8

Sebastian Valle scouting report

I meant to post this days ago, I linked to it on twitter, but I forgot to create a new post here. Anyway, Mike at scoutingthesally.com did a nice writeup on Sebastian Valle which you can check out here. Mike is one of the best out there in providing excellent first hand reports and content, so be sure and check it out.

2011 Reader Top 30, #6

We may as well move on, as Trevor May is taking the #5 spot with relative ease. I’ll add a bunch of the names for #6 that were mentioned in the discussion for #5, though I’m sure #6 will be a landslide as well. We’ll see.

1. Domonic Brown, OF
2. Jon Singleton, OF
3. Jarred Cosart, RHP
4. Brody Colvin, RHP
5. Trevor May, RHP

2011 Reader Top 30, #5

Brody Colvin takes the 4th spot in a romp. #5 figures to be a battle between Trevor May and Sebastian Valle. Let me know when I need to start adding more choices to the poll.

1. Domonic Brown, OF
2. Jon Singleton, OF
3. Jarred Cosart, RHP
4. Brody Colvin, RHP

Reader Top 30, #4

Truckin’ along. Jarred Cosart takes the #3 spot comfortably, so we move on to #4.

Also, I’ve just renewed the domain name for another year, and we’re now coming up on 4 years for the site. It still kind of blows my mind what we’ve become. I try to say it a lot, but again, thank you for continuing to come back every day, thanks to those of you who have contributed with content for the site, comments, and donations (really, a huge thanks for this) over the last few years. Its been a blast, and I’m constantly trying to think of ways to make this place better. Anyway, on to the voting.

1. Domonic Brown, OF
2. Jon Singleton, OF
3. Jarred Cosart, RHP
4.

2011 Reader Top 30, #3

Moving on, with Jon Singleton comfortably taking the number 2 spot. I’m not going to add another name to the ballot at this point, since its not really necessary. If you want to write in someone, vote OTHER, and then put your vote in the comments. Here we go.

1. Domonic Brown, OF
2. Jon Singleton, 1B/OF

Phillies sign Cliff Lee

I’m breaking from tradition. We deserve it, especially after I spent a year quelling all of the Cliff Lee talk on this site.

Phillies traded Lee on December 14th, 2009 for 3 prospects. They then signed Roy Halladay.
1 Year later, they re-signed Lee to a 5 year deal. We essentially rented him out for a year, received 3 prospects, plus the best pitcher in baseball, and then we got him back.

Beyond amazing.
