Per Matt Gelb, the Phillies have decided to move Phillippe Aumont back to the bullpen. They cite his comfort level there, and I suspect they’ve ascertained that he doesn’t have enough weapons to really make an impact in the rotation. 2010 was a lost year for Aumont in a lot of ways, but he did log plenty of innings, and I have to think that experience will prove beneficial. He’s still very young and still has plenty of time, but when looking at his value now, you have to examine it as a reliever. Discuss.

JC Ramirez pulled ahead of Matt Rizzotti to take the 16th spot, and we now move on to #17. Leandro Castro picked up quite a bit of write-in support, so we’ll add him.

The runoff vote for #14 and 15 was as close as the actual vote, but at some point the madness must end, and so Aaron Altherr takes spot #14, and Phillippe Aumont takes spot #15. That means we move on to #16. Freddy Galvis got multiple mentions, so I’ll add him, and also Miguel Alvarez.

Brody Colvin profile
Hey folks. I’d like to thank Dave (posts articles here as “Puko”) and Ryan (posts articles here as rgatta) for offering their help in producing a number of profiles. I had started to write these, but with other endeavors, I have not had time to follow up and produce more. Dave and Ryan will be writing up a bunch of profiles in the coming weeks/months. All of them will be located on the profiles page, which you can get to by clicking here and for future reference, clicking the “Profiles” link at the top of the site. Right now, we have profiles available for Sebastian Valle, Jarred Cosart, Domonic Brown and Trevor May. Dave has just completed the Brody Colvin profile, which you can now find linked on the main profiles page, or by clicking here. All of the tools grades will be my subjective evaluations, as well as the video analysis, everything else will be produced by Dave and Ryan.
I do not want to include the “click here for more” link in the profiles, so they won’t appear on the main page. I will post updates frequently after a number of profiles are complete, and remember to keep checking the profiles page for new additions. Thanks.

Domingo Santana dominated the competition (like he’ll hopefully dominate Lakewood in 2011) and took home the 13th spot. That means we move on to #14, which should be fairly wide open. JC Ramirez received the most write-in support, so he replaces Santana in the polling. Onward

Looking for another writer
Hello. As we approach the 2011 season, I want to make a number of improvements to the site, and the first and foremost on my list is completing a number of player profiles, as I’ve done a few and then haven’t had time to write any more. You can find all of the profiles here. I’m looking for someone with exceptional writing ability, who can follow the templates I’ve used for the already created profiles. I will go over all of the specifics in more detail at a later point. So if you are knowledgeable when it comes to prospects, you have good writing skills, and you want to lend a hand here, please send an email to phuturephillies at gmail dot com with the words “profile writer” or something similar in the title. Thanks in advance.

Julio Rodriguez eases ahead and takes the #12 spot, edging out Domingo Santana. Rizzotti got the most write-in support, so he’ll be added this time around.

Jiwan James emerged victorious in the voting for #11, so we move on to #12. Cesar Hernandez received the most write-in support, outside of the bizarre Derek Mitchell nominations. Maybe someone can explain that one to me. Anyway, moving along…

Now that we’ve finished up the Top 10, with Justin De Fratus taking the #10 spot, we’re going to speed things up. I’m going to try and get to one vote per week day unless the voting is super close, then I’ll let it run a bit and just take 2 guys for 2 spots and move on. So, vote early. All in all, the top 10 as selected by the masses will look pretty similar to my top 10, but I won’t give it away yet. Once the Reader Top 30 is complete, I will go through my top 30 in sequential order. With lots of detail. I’ve already written blurbs for all 30 prospects, which you’ll find in the 2011 Phillies Maple Street Press Annual, edited this year by friends of phuturephillies at The Good Phight. But I plan to expound on those blurbs here, as well as including a long introduction. My unedited piece there was 7,000 words, I think I can more than double that here. But I’m rambling now. On to #11. Kelly Dugan received multiple write-in votes, so he’ll replace De Fratus in the poll for #11
