    1. He is a low 90s (top 93 to low 89) fastball guy that spins it well. Interesting prospect. Not sure how he will do as he moves up but he is dominating A ball. 0 homers given up in 37 IP

      1. Would like to see him promoted to Jersey Shore and Aldegheri to Reading. Don’t know how much further he will go either with that low 90’s fastball but its also not impossible

        1. Still only 20 years old…..I am sure Graves can get it up a few ticks higher as he gains maturity and strength…plus the fact at 6’6″ he does have a longer release point to the plate and like Falter with his stretched release point, can have a deceptively fast FB.

          1. Good points, Romus. Graves has really improved his control Last year in the FCL he walked 29 in 34 innings. This year 14 in 34 innings.

        2. Mavis Graves will be 20 for all of the 2024 season so there’s absolutely no reason to push him from Clearwater right now. Clearly he’s worked on some stuff and he’s having success with it, let him continue there. As good as he’s pitching, he’s not George Klassen.

Aldegheri should probably head to Reading sooner rather than later, but his walk rate is worrisome. Walking guys at Reading is a recipe for disaster.

  1. Tall lefty Mavis Graves is working his way up to be a top 30 prospect in the system, maybe in the top 15 when all said and done this year,….putting it altogether so far this season.  Graves and  Samuel Aldegheri are two starting LHPs that are generating plenty of excitement.

  2. BTW, looks like Orion Kerkering has accumulated enough service time that he’s off the Phillies top 30 prospect list. Michael Mercado is now on the list at #30.
