  1. I wonder if they’ll send any more players up to Reading to play a few additional games. We should know the AFL players soon. Pipkin and Simmons will be very sorry to see the season end since both closed on an up note.
If Rojas can frequently get on base twice a night, he’ll score many runs for his team

    1. I’ll be curious to see if the Phillies promote Abel to AAA and send him to the bullpen for a brief big league audition.

        1. That is probably what will happen. Not sure I agree with that, but with these fabulous prospects, I understand why they would be so careful.

  2. Already the Phillies are juggling their 40 man roster by putting Appel on the 60 IL. Pretty sure they don’t want to exacerbate the situation by promoting Abel/McGarry/Painter for the final 22 games of the season when they don’t have to. The bullpen looks set.

    1. I think it’s more a function of their not wanting to take a chance with unproven commodities while useful pitchers return to full health and with a relatively deep bullpen (it’s not lights out, but it’s also not half bad).

    2. I thought McGarry would be an end-of-season call up…..basically as a reliever……but looks like his hand issue could be a caution flag.
Have to see what happens at his next game action.

      1. Remember that they can only call up one pitcher in September these days, far less than the old days. With Wheeler back soon, someone will have to go down. Maybe Brogdon will go on the IL so they can keep Falter as another long man. Dominguez, Robertson, Hand, Alvarado, Coonrod, Bellati, Eflin and Nelson are all staying.
