Phillies’ Affiliates Recap (9/4/2022)

Here are today’s results.

Lehigh Valley (69-59) lost to the Norfolk Tides, 10-0.  Francisco Morales (7.58) entered in a low leverage situation (trailing 5-0) and was terrible.  He didn’t record an out and gave up 4 runs on a hit and 3 walks.  Darick Hall (.246) went 2-4.  

Reading (55-71, 26-31) lost to the Hartford Yard Goats, 4-2.  Mick Abel (3.29) pitched five innings and gave up no runs, one hit, and 3 walks.  He struck out eight.  Andrew Schultz (3.38) allowed an inherited runner to score and pitched 1.1 innings allowing no runs on 3 hits and no walks,  He struck out one.  Kevin Vicuna (.257) went 3-3 with a walk, HR (2), and an RBI.

Jersey Shore (47-79, 22-38) beat the Hudson Valley Renegades, 6-1.  Domonic Pipkin (3-7, 5.32) pitched five innings and gave up no runs, 3 hits, and a walk.  He struck out three.  Cristian Hernandez (4.83) pitched two innings and gave up no runs, one hit, and no walks.  He struck out three.  Sal Gozzo (.160) went 2-4 with a double and RBI.  Rixon Wingrove (.246) went 2-3 with a walk.

Clearwater (56-68, 21-38) lost to the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 12-7.  Andrew Walling (9.00) pitched two innings and gave up one run on 2 hits and no walks.  He struck out three.  Chase Webster (0.00) struck out 2 in one perfect inning.  Micah Yonamine (.237) went 2-3 with 2 walks and an RBI.  Wilfredo Flores went 2-5 with an RBI.

  1. Pipkin might be finding some small success finally. In 3 of his last 4 starts he’s had 5 shutout innings with only 3 hits allowed in each. He was a big prospect at one time.
    Luis Garcia was removed from the 40. He just hasn’t hut.

      1. Thanks for the clarification. This transaction might be a personal shock treatment that could get him straightened out. Just hoping.

  2. Good start for Abel. Not much happening on the hitting front; it seems like our top offensive prospects might be pretty much done this season. Haven’t seen Lee in a box score in a week, Crawford on the DL, Boyd on the development list and Grego didn’t get the late season bump when the FCL ended. It’s pretty much down to just Rojas.
