Rehabbing Sam Coonrod pitched one inning and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk. Mickey Moniak (.291) went 1-5. Jean Segura played nine innings at second base and went 1-3 with 2 walks and 2 RBI. Nick Maton (.265) went 1-5. Donnie Sands (.313) went 1-4 with a walk. Josh Ockimey (.222) went 2-4 with a 3-run HR (3).
Reading (40-55, 11-15) lost to the Erie SeaWolves, 5-2. Colton Eastman (3.26) pitched five innings and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks with 3 K. Johan Rojas (.270) went 1-3 with a solo HR (2) and sacrifice. Simon Muzziotti (.195) went 0-4. Jhailyn Ortiz (.260) went 0-4.
Jersey Shore (35-60, 10-19) beat the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 6-0. That’s 28 consecutive scoreless innings for the BlueClaws’ pitching staff and 3 shutouts. Andrew Painter (1-0, 1.59) pitched six shutout innings allowing 5 hits, one walk, a pickoff, and striking out five. Cam Bedrosian (19.29) tossed two, one-hit innings with no walks and 3 K. Andrew Baker (6.07) pitched one inning allowing one hit, no walks, and 2 K. Jared Carr (.207) went 3-5 with 2 RBI. Luis Garcia (.159) went 1-3 with 2 walks. Ethan Wilson (.242) went 1-5. Carlos De La Cruz (.267) went 1-4 with a solo HR (10). Baron Radcliff (.201) went 2-4 with a double, HR (8), and 3 RBI.
Clearwater (44-50, 9-20) lost to the Dunedin Blue Jays, 3-1. Jean Cabrera (2-4, 5.27) pitched 3.1 innings and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits, 4 walks, and 4 K. Sam Jacobsak (3.46), Eiberson Castellano (3.22), and Tristan Garnett (0.52) shut out the Jays for the remaining 5.2 innings on 2 hits, no walks, and 9 K. Jamari Baylor (.136) went 1-3 with one of the Threshers’ 3 hits, a solo HR (5). The Phanatic was here, though.
FCL Phillies (14-22) beat the FCL Blue Jays, 7-4. Daniel Mejia (5.40) gave up an unearned run in three innings on 2 hits, 4 walks, and 3 K. Rehabbing Alexeis Azuaje went 1-5 with an RBI. Rehabbing Madison Stokes went 2-3 with a double, SB, and RBI. Rehabbing McCarthy Tatum went 0-3. Oscar Gonzalez (.257) went 2-3 with a walk and RBI. Yemal Flores (.155)went 0-5 with 3 K. Jordan Viars (.219) went 1-3 with a walk.

Why trade JoJo for another weak hitting IF’er? This is another Michael Martinez type. We probably have a dozen of these types already in our organization and could have bought another dozen from others without trading anyone.
It could also be that they are about to trade an infielder.
