Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/8/2021

Only three games last night because one was rained out.  But, we won those three!  Clearwater walked off against the division leader.  Lehigh Valley came back from an early deficit and aMatt Moore rehab.  Reading built up an early lead behind a first-rounders’ 2 home runs and was never really threatened.  And, Jersey Shore will make up their postponed game Wednesday as part of a 7-inning doubleheader. Open Discussion: Week of June 6, 2021

The Phillies went 3-2 last week.  They split in Cincinnati and took two out of three from thre Nationals.  Another tough week follows as they continue their homestand with a three-game set against Atlanta and a pair against the Yankees next weekend. Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/6/2021

Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/5/2021

The teams not named Reading won three games.  Reading lost two.  Clearwater won in OT and their starter retired all 15 batters he faced.  Lehigh Valley beat their archrival.  Reading dropped a doubleheader scoring 3 runs and collecting 7 hits in 14 innings.  And, Jersey Shore rallied to walk off with strong pitching after the game’s first four batters.  Continue reading Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/5/2021

Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/4/2021

The guys won all four of today’s regularly scheduled games, but they lost the suspended game in which they led when weather interrupted.  Clearwater scored double digits with some help from their opponent in their win.  Lehigh Valley won behind a 2-home run, 5 RBI night by Mickey Moniak, and a solid start from Bailey Falter.  Reading won behind a 6-RBI night by Luke Miller, and 16 strikeouts by their pitchers.  (Billy Sullivan had himself a night.)  And, Jersey Shore won with 4 solo HRs after their come-from-ahead loss in the suspended game.  Continue reading Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/4/2021

Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/3/2021

It was a dark and stormy night.  Well, dreary at least.  Two losses, a suspension, and a postponement.  Clearwater blew a substantial lead and wasted some strong early pitching and hitting.  Lehigh Valley lost but saw Adam Haseley return to action.  Matt Moore and Scott Kingery also made rehab appearances.  Reading was postponed.  Jersey Shore was suspended but had a lead after three innings and a strong outing from its starter.  Continue reading Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/3/2021

Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/2/2021

Another split last night.  We played four games and won two.  The wins came from the two lower-level teams.  Clearwater waited out the opposition and drew 16 walks while their pitchers issued none.  Lehigh Valley got whooped.  Reading gave up a sizeable lead and lost in extras.  Jersey Shore won behind some solid pitching. Threshers’ and Affiliates’ Recap – 6/1/2021

June 1st.  We played four games and split, 2 wind and 2 losses.  The wins came from the top and bottom of the organizational ladder.  Clearwater won in extra innings in a game that showcased some fine pitching from both teams.  Lehigh Valley won against its arch-rival.  Reading lost, again, their fourth consecutive loss.  As did Jersey Shore, also their fourth consecutive loss.
